Snot Rag

James 4:7-10 ‘So let God work his will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him scamper. Say a quiet yes to God and he'll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it's the only way you'll get on your feet.”

Kleenex…I can’t stand when people blow their nose and then leave their used Kleenexes all over the house.  That’s gross.  I was at a friend’s house a very long time ago.  I went to pick up a book and felt something soft underneath it.  I turned it over and realized my hand was plastered on top of a used Kleenex.  Without thinking, I threw the book along with the Kleenex halfway across the room.  It disgusted me so much that I automatically wanted it far away from me.  We should be this exact same way with sin.  When it comes near us or we’re tempted with it, we should be so disgusted with it that we push it far from us, without another thought.  A lot of us have various excuses for why the sin we do have is ok.  No sin is smaller or greater than the other in God’s eyes.  Sin is just as ugly in any form.  Even though the snot was wrapped in a soft, white Kleenex, it was still just as disgusting.  The same goes for sin that comes along looking sweet and innocent.  Don’t be deceived.  Satan comes as an angel of light.  It will look innocent enough but when all is said and done, it’s not.  Don’t’ let any sin enter your life.  Throw it away from you like a nasty snot rag.

2 Corinthians 11:14-15  “And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve.”
