A Burden Bee

Proverbs 17:22 “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”

Have you ever sat and watched a bumble bee doing its thing?  It will fly from flower to flower collecting pollen, causing lumps to form on its legs.  These lumps can get heavy for the bee but it keeps picking up more and more pollen because that’s its job.  I sometimes feel like a burden bee.  I will allow myself to be burdened by every little thing that’s sad or disheartening.  Instead of allowing these burdens to spur me on to work even harder at fighting what this evil world can dish out, I allow it to get me down, stress, and worry.  Instead of collecting all this negative stuff we should be collecting everything positive that pops up.  Like a bee, we need to hold onto the life giving pollen that Christ offers in this crazy world.  If it gets heavy, it’s a good heavy and all we want to do is keep picking up more and more of it.  Then, just as a bee does, we can take the positive things we have discovered and allow them to dust off in other people’s life so that they can grow just as Christ helped us grow.  Negative junk will only kill your every day, get some positive pollen in your system and let your day flourish.
Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. “
