Remembering

Isaiah 43:19 “Be alert, be present. I'm about to do something brand-new.”

The band played a show last night.  We met a lot of new people from different backgrounds.  There was one young man who couldn’t get over how much I looked like a friend he had.  This friend was from many years ago and in a different state.  He went on to say that it had been a while since he had thought of her until he saw me.  Then he slowed and said, “Maybe there’s a reason God is having me remember her.”  Isn’t it crazy how God will remind us of people who have been in our life but moved on?  His reminders may be an encouragement to pray for them. He puts people in our life for a reason.  We may never realize this reason but when it’s complete God will move those people along.  Sometimes these people may be hard to part with because they have meant a great deal to us but we need to realize that when God moves someone on He is bringing in new people.  Maybe He’s bringing in someone even more meaningful than the last.  This doesn't mean that we forget about those past friends and people for good.  Always remember them in prayer and God will lay on your heart those who need it at specific times.  Go with God’s flow and have faith, trust that the one who created perfection can bring about perfect circumstances in your life.

Ecclesiastes 4:12 “By yourself you're unprotected.  With a friend you can face the worst.  Can you round up a third?  A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped.”
