Layer after Layer

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Not too long ago we built a big stage for our youth outreach.  We had a bunch of guys from the youth and some parents jump in and donate their time, supplies, and funds.  Because of work I didn’t get to help much but I got to stop by one day, real quick, and peak at the progress.  What had started out as a bare floor slowly, layer by layer, was built into a large, beautiful stage.  This helped me realize how God works in our lives.  We start out as empty beings, searching for something to fill our void.  God comes in and slowly builds, layer by layer, a foundation in our hearts.  Each layer has its ups and downs.  When building the stage, each layer we built had its easy moments but also had its struggles.  But we learned from the struggles on one layer to help us through the struggles on the next layer.  It’s the same with life.  We learn as we go through each level of life so that we can be better equipped for the ones to come.  God will keep building and building until we have become a big, beautiful stage that He can use to proclaim His message.  We are His tools.  Just like we use the stage to spread God’s word, so will He use us to spread His love.

Ephesians 2:10 “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
