Making our Destination

Proverbs 2:6 “And here's why: God gives out Wisdom free, is plainspoken in knowledge and understanding. He's a rich mine of common sense for those who live well, a personal bodyguard to the candid and sincere. He keeps his eye on all who live honestly, and pays special attention to his loyally committed ones.”

In ancient European times the wealthy would hire their children a private Greek tutor specifically to introduce them to another culture and language.  Not only this, but there were no public schools so parents would have the tutors take the children to and from the private school to make sure they got to where they were going.  This is one of their biggest jobs, making sure the child was in the right place at the right time as a way to protect them because of their family’s wealth.  The children who got private Greek tutors most often went on to serve as great officials, administrators, or even be involved in the Senate because of their knowledge in many different philosophies, cultures, and languages.  God is our protector, He wants to take us where we need to be and get us there safely.  He wants to make sure what we’ve set up for ourselves doesn’t hurt us as we’re walking to and from the destinations in our lives.  Where is God leading you?  Are you letting Him teach you and protect you?  Let God tutor you in His culture, language, and philosophy so that you can be equipped for the greatness that lies ahead of you.

Matthew 8:34 "Anyone who intends to come with me has to let me lead. You're not in the driver's seat; I am.”
