Why?

Jude 1:10 “But these people insult powers they don't know anything about. They are like senseless animals that end up getting destroyed, because they live only by their feelings.”

When I was younger, my sisters and I used to play in a creek that was a couple of miles from our house.  Our mom and dad would sit up on the bank and search for neat rocks.  One day, my dad told us to get out of the water quickly.  I thought it very strange because there was no apparent reason why we needed to exit the water in a quick fashion.  I didn’t question him, though, and got out of the water as fast as I could.  It wasn’t a few seconds after my foot left the water that a flash flood started tearing through the creek, ripping down trees and making a mess.  If we had taken the time to ask our dad why, we could have been hurt or even killed.  A lot of times it’s hard to see why God is allowing us to go through things.  He may ask of us tasks that are confusing.  Most of us spend our time focusing on why and trying to understand.  That effort should be focused elsewhere because when God asks us to move, we need to move.  If we take the time to ask why, it could mean hurt.  A majority of the time, God will allow us to see and understand why after it’s all said and done.  We can step out of the water, completing our task, and turn to see what God either saved us from going through or used us to create.

1 Corinthians 13:12 “We don't yet see things clearly. We're squinting in a fog, peering through a mist. But it won't be long before the weather clears and the sun shines bright! We'll see it all then, see it all as clearly as God sees us, knowing him directly just as he knows us!”
