It Wasn't Me!

Proverbs 19:3 “People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does God always get blamed?”
My family and I love to watch the movie, Rocketman.  This middle-aged man, who still lives with his parents and acts like a kid, has always wanted to be an astronaut.  He designed a program for NASA following the training he received in college.  After a while, something seemed to be going wrong with the program and he got called into NASA headquarters to fix it.  While there, he became good friends with a monkey and every time he was clumsy and messed something up, he would point at the monkey and say, “It wasn’t me!”  The monkey couldn’t say anything to defend himself and nobody even tried reasoning with him.  It seems sometimes we want to blame God for the things we’ve done.  We want to point our finger at Him and say, “It wasn’t me!”  Stop blaming your clumsy mistakes on God.  We often times act like God is just a random person we mention.  He’s talked about as having a lot of power so He becomes a prime target for us to blame everything that happens that we don’t like, on Him.  Focus on the choices you choose and decide wisely.  Choices don’t just effect “in the moment.”  That way, you won’t need God as a monkey to blame your clumsiness on.
Nehemiah 9:32 “You are not to blame for all that has come down on us; You did everything right, we did everything wrong.”
