So Blessed We're Not Blessed

Job 1:21 “Naked I came from my mother's womb, naked I'll return to the womb of the earth.  God gives, God takes.  God's name be ever blessed.”

As Americans we really don’t have to worry if we’re going to have food or not.  Even if we were homeless, we would get fed at least one meal a day.  We have such easy access to food that we take it for granted.  A kid who has lost their parents over in a third world country has to work hard and be very patient just to get scraps.  They will see getting food as much more of a blessing than we will.  It seems the more we have of something, the less we realize it as a blessing.  Someone who doesn’t have a lot of something has an easier chance of seeing the true blessing.  They haven’t grown used to the feeling of always having it there.  There’s a song by Toby Mac that says, “You never know what ya got ‘til it’s gone.”  Once we lose someone or something the realization sets in of how blessed we were to have them or it in our lives.  I have the blessing of waking up every morning and seeing the beautiful sun God created.  I take for granted that I can do that.  I often times will be annoyed with the sun because it wakes me up.  Someone who is blind may long to glimpse the beauty of the sun and never get to.  Who knows, one day maybe God will take your sight or my sight.  God gives and God takes away.  Don’t forget to praise God each morning for the things we so often take for granted.  He could very easily take them away to help us realize what we have or had.

Job 36:22 “Do you have any idea how powerful God is? Have you ever heard of a teacher like him? Has anyone ever had to tell him what to do, or correct him, saying, 'You did that all wrong!'? Remember, then, to praise his workmanship, which is so often celebrated in song. Everybody sees it; nobody is too far away to see it.”
