Action-Reaction

Psalm 7:15-16 “Whoever digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit they have made. The trouble they cause recoils on them; their violence comes down on their own heads.”

When my sisters and I were in high school, we enjoyed playing a lot of sports.  This included football.  The sports coordinator for our home school sports organization wouldn’t allow us to play on the football team.  We heckled him enough that he finally set-up seven scrimmages between a team of girls my sister’s and I put together and his boys on the football team.  If we played well against his boys, we could play on the team.  We took the challenge.  We ended up winning every scrimmage against the boys.  My older sister made the winning touchdown for the last scrimmage.  After entering the end zone she threw the ball down in victory.  Not paying attention to the ball’s bounce, it came up and hit her square in the nose.  This ended her victory dance prematurely.  Sometimes we get too caught up in certain moments in life that we forget to realize the “reaction” to our actions.  To everything we do there’s a consequence.  Don’t find yourself letting things in the moment carry you away from remembering there will be a consequence to what you’re doing.  Your victory dance may end prematurely due to a previous action.

Romans 6:21-22 “What benefit did you reap at that time from the things you are now ashamed of? Those things result in death! But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.”
