Mutants

Psalm 139:13-14 “Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb.  I thank you, High God—you're breathtaking!  Body and soul, I am marvelously made!  I worship in adoration—what a creation!”

My family and I were watching a show about animals being born with strange defects.  The very last one to be shown was a baby pig born with a collapsed skull, giving it the appearance of a Cyclops.  It had one big eye in the middle of its face, a tiny, crumpled looking nose, and a tongue that was double its normal size that hung out of its mouth.  It survived three days without any nostrils to breathe through.  We look at that and see that it’s special compared to the other normal baby pigs.  There are details that make it stand out.  To us, without something obvious, it’s hard to differentiate people from each other.  We start lumping everyone we see into categories based on the same basic traits they may share.  What’s amazing about God is how detailed He is with each one of us.  He looks and sees how each person is special in their own way.  They don’t need to have two heads or be 8-foot tall; they are simply the creation He made.  I draw a lot and in each of my drawings I know every detail because I spent the time to intricately place each line to complete a piece of art.  God intricately designed us and knows every special aspect of who we are.  We are His work of art and we are very dear to Him.

Genesis 2:7 “Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.”
